The show also was able to produce movies based on the TV Series, such as:
TGIS the Movie
Takot ka ba sa Dilim
so what does this got to do with #JULIELMO?
Well, in the first place, i’d like to give credit to Direk Mark Reyes. He has the eye for chemistry. He saw what clicked, he saw what the common teen would love, and he saw who were a good pair and would glitter. He made Peachy & Wacks. He brought them from just doing sweet nothings as high school lovers (TGIS) to almost marrying young adults (Growing Up) and to becoming mature young parents of another GMA show, the TEENGen (which i watched, just because of Peachy & Wacks). Well, the fact is, they had very good chemistry, but they were not really into a relationship. But the chemistry was there… they are very good friends.
and in connection with JULIELMO, Mark Reyes again saw that in Julie & Elmo. He knows what the people would love to see together, he knows what would shine once again on TV… HE JUST KNOWS IT. that’s why they boosted the JULIELMO Tandem on Party Pilipinas. They gave them a solo/duet spots, they gave them theater-like performances on PartyP, their tandem was given a movie - but was haphazardly promoted by the NETWORK again and the low sales was blamed on ‘weak fanbase’ — ito ba ang weak fanbase that until now, for more than a year no JULIELMO projects but we are standing tall??? they gave the tandem a saturday afternoon show that was actually hitting good viewership, good ratings - but the show was just given a SEASON and was replaced with OLD MOVIES, and then TEENGEN which only survived because of PEACHY & WACKS! And then, with unexplainable reasons, all of a sudden JULIELMO was split up.
What i am trying to say is, i hope GMA recognizes the importance of actually learning from experience, and also listening to the crowd. I do not want Julie & Elmo to be in a relationship, professionally speaking, i want them to be a tandem again, a team… because their pair, just works! Instead of spending their resources on a talentless talent, why not invest on these two who have won the hearts of so many, these two who have trended multiple times on twitter, local & WW… these two who have influenced so many ‘FanFic writers’ with just their stance and blank stares at each other.
this is just one of the many blogs, ranting for a change! haha! :D one of the many blogs screaming for THE NETWORK to drop the talentless talents and invest on people, on tandems that are talented, with potentials, spend air time on afternoon dramas that actually would bring in sponsors, would encourage good morals, family values, afternoon series that would touch the hearts of many, series that would not only employ their favorites, but would actually raise up the standard of Philippine Entertainment — because it is a fact, that as you employ, and spend air time on talentless newbie on TV, you actually contribute to the degradation of Philippine Entertainment business!
i appreciate THE NETWORK’S strength on documentaries, on intelligent shows & news, i’d like to applaud you for I-Witness, for Reporters’ Notebook, for Powerhouse etc… but i so hate your favoritism entertainment choices & strategy!
